About The Position

Highbar Physical Therapy is hiring an Insurance Authorization Specialist, also referred to in the posting as an Authorization and Insurance Verification Specialist. The role verifies insurance coverage, completes necessary authorizations according to insurance guidelines, and monitors quality to support clean claim processing. The specialist addresses insurance benefit issues, helps patients and Patient Care Coordinators with difficult accounts, and may assist other departments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic understanding of health insurance benefits.

• Knowledge of medical insurance and authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve complex insurance benefit issues.
• Obtain detailed patient information for accurate submissions to the appropriate insurance carriers.
• Contact health care providers to obtain referrals or additional information as needed.
• Follow up with insurance companies to confirm receipt of patient benefit authorizations.
• Accurately transpose data and information, maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Schedule patient visits when necessary.
• Guide and assist Patient Care Coordinators with difficult accounts.
• Research benefit coverage and provide information and assistance to patients.
• Assist other departments as needed, including Billing and Front Office.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
