About The Position

Highbar Physical Therapy is seeking an Authorization and Insurance Verification Specialist to join their growing team. This role is crucial for ensuring clean claim processing by verifying insurances and obtaining necessary authorizations according to insurance guidelines. The specialist will work with complex insurance benefit issues, gather patient information, communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies, and maintain data accuracy. The position also involves scheduling patient visits, assisting Patient Care Coordinators and patients with benefit inquiries, and supporting other departments like Billing and Front Office.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Basic understanding of health insurance benefits

Responsibilities

• Identify and solve complex insurance benefit issues.
• Obtain detailed patient information to accurately submit to the proper insurance carriers.
• Contact health care providers to obtain referrals or additional information as necessary.
• Follow up with insurance companies to ensure receipt of patient benefit authorizations.
• Maintain strong attention to detail to transpose data and information accurately.
• Schedule patient visits when necessary.
• Guide and assist Patient Care Coordinators through difficult accounts.
• Provide information and assist patients when help is needed by researching benefit coverage.
• Assist other departments as needed, including Billing and Front Office.
• Other duties may be assigned.
