Insurance Advisor

OptiomTownship of Langley, BC
CA$52,000 - CA$68,000Hybrid

About The Position

Your clients are already with us — and they deserve someone who knows their name. As an Insurance Advisor at Optiom, you are the person our existing clients call when they have questions, need to update their coverage, or want to explore what else we can do for them. You will also be the first voice a prospective client hears when they reach out to us — ready to listen, quote, and bind. This is a service-first role. Your success comes from knowing your products, building genuine trust with clients, and delivering a seamless experience from first hello to bound policy. We are growing intentionally, and we are building the team we want to grow with. There is a clear growth path for advisors who perform well here.

Requirements

  • Active Level 1 General Insurance License in Alberta or British Columbia — required at the time of hire
  • Experience in a client-facing insurance role handling policy inquiries, mid-term changes, and coverage transactions
  • Comfort and confidence in an inbound environment where quality and accuracy matter more than raw volume
  • Attention to detail when quoting and binding — you check your work and take ownership of your files
  • Clear, professional communication in writing and on the phone
  • A collaborative approach: you share what you know, ask when you are unsure, and step up when it is busy

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with specialty or niche insurance products — vehicle protection, warranty, F&I-adjacent lines, or similar
  • Multi-provincial licensing (AB BC, ON)
  • A CIP designation in progress — or interest in pursuing one with our support

Responsibilities

  • Taking calls from policyholders who want to cancel, understanding why, and winning back their confidence in their coverage.
  • Proactive outbound calls to policyholders whose coverage is expiring soon. Your job is to re-engage them on value, overcome objections, and drive renewal decisions.
  • Outbound welcome calls to customers who recently purchased a Dealer Suite product in Ontario, confirming suitability, answering questions, and building confidence in their coverage before a cancellation thought even forms.
  • Handling inbound inquiries and making outbound calls to existing and prospective policyholders to activate new policies. You'll quote, educate, and close.
  • Handle inbound inquiries from prospective clients with a consultative, no-pressure approach
  • Quote and bind policies accurately and efficiently across our product suite
  • Keep client records current and complete in our systems — a clean and defensible audit trail matters here
  • Collaborate with teammates to share product knowledge, cover volume, and continuously improve how we serve clients
  • Identify and act on natural opportunities to deepen client relationships — not cold outreach, just good service conversations that uncover additional needs

Benefits

  • Base salary commensurate with experience and license level
  • Variable pay with both an individual performance component and a team results component — rewarding your contribution and your team’s collective success
  • Comprehensive group benefits: medical, dental, vision, and Employee Assistance Program
  • 3 weeks vacation to start, increasing with tenure per company policy
  • Employer-supported licensing and continuing education — we cover exam fees and CE credits
  • Hybrid model: 3 days per week in-office at your primary location (Calgary or Langley)
  • A team that promotes from within — we will tell you exactly what advancement looks like and support you in getting there
