About The Position

Optiom is a specialty insurance MGA, fully backed by Aviva Canada, protecting Canadians through vehicle warranties and replacement insurance distributed through dealerships and brokers coast to coast. We are Calgary-based, growing fast, and looking for an Inside Sales & Account Management Representative to join our retention and loyalty team. This role covers four core functions — you'll move across all of them every day: Cancellation Saves: Taking calls from policyholders who want to cancel, understanding why, and winning back their confidence in their coverage. You'll have targets, techniques, and support — but the outcome depends on your ability to genuinely connect and problem-solve in real time. OLEPI — Expiring Policy Outreach: Proactive outbound calls to policyholders whose coverage is expiring soon. Your job is to re-engage them on value, overcome objections, and drive renewal decisions. Volume matters here — so does conversion. Dealer Suite Welcome Calls: Outbound welcome calls to customers who recently purchased a Dealer Suite product in Ontario, confirming suitability, answering questions, and building confidence in their coverage before a cancellation thought even forms. Inside Sales — Inbound & Outbound: Handling inbound inquiries and making outbound calls to existing and prospective policyholders to activate new policies. You'll quote, educate, and close. Across all four: you'll track your activity accurately, write thorough interaction notes, and hit your daily targets without being asked twice.

Requirements

  • Active Alberta Level 1 General Insurance License — or a real plan to obtain it within 90 days (fees covered by employer)
  • 1–3 years in a customer-facing inside sales, retention, or service role in insurance, financial services, or a related field
  • Comfort with high-volume outbound calling and objection handling in a target-driven environment
  • A telephone presence that's confident, empathetic, and professional — never scripted-sounding
  • Strong attention to detail in policy records, call tracking, and written notes
  • CRM proficiency and the ability to learn Optiom's quoting and policy platforms quickly
  • Self-directed work habits — you manage your own queue, hit your targets, and flag issues before they become problems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a retention or cancellation-save role
  • Familiarity with automotive F&I products, dealer-embedded insurance, or extended warranty
  • Previous MGA or broker channel experience
  • Awareness of OMVIC-regulated communication standards or Ontario insurance compliance requirements
  • Bilingual English/French
