About The Position

This role involves applying, removing, and repairing insulating material to various structures such as air ducts, pipes, storage tanks, boilers, and buildings to control noise and maintain temperatures. The Insulation Leadman will read blueprints, select and prepare insulation materials, measure and cut insulation to size, apply it to structures, and seal it according to specifications. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Must be able to apply, remove, and repair insulating material.
Ability to work at heights with no fear.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.

Responsibilities

Apply, remove, and repair insulating material to exposed surfaces or structures.
Read blueprints and select required insulation material.
Work at heights with no fear.
Brush adhesives on or attach metal adhesive application to insulation material.
Determine amounts and select required insulation material (in sheet, tubular, or roll form) based on material's ability to retain heat, location, surface, shape, and equipment use.
Measure and cut insulation material to specified size and shape for covering flat or round surfaces, using handsaw, knife, or scissors.
Fit, wrap or attach required insulation material around or to structure, following blueprint specifications.
Cover or seal insulation with preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant or tape to secure insulation to the structure.
Other duties as assigned.
