Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial insulation or manufacturing assembly/warehouse
  • 2+ years in fabrication and fitting insulation with high-mix product environments
  • Physical ability to work in awkward positions such as, kneeling, lying down and overhead, and climb & work from a ladder and lift up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Respirator fit test and medical clearance, compliance with insulation handling SOPs
  • Experienced in use paint thickness gauges and assessing quality of primer/paint
  • Ability to stand and walk for most of the workday
  • Ability to interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and cut lists with high accuracy
  • Formally trained in overhead crane operation and comfortable working from heights/ladders
  • Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills for effective coordination with supervisors and cross-functional departments
  • Ability to support production needs through overtime and weekend shifts as required

Responsibilities

  • Interprets prints and travelers to mask critical interfaces, threaded features, and nameplates.
  • Sets up air-assisted airless system to specification.
  • Executes changeovers, records lot/batch data, maintains FIFO, and minimizes material loss.
  • Performs paint thickness measurements, adhesion (X-cut/pull-off), & records results to traveler/MES.
  • Daily gun/booth PM; filter changes; booth balance checks; line clean-outs; coordinates maintenance work orders.
  • Rigorously applies PPE, ventilation, and respirator program rules; manages waste, rags, and solvent per-site controls; maintains spray area 5S.
  • Fill in for insulator and wash booth technician as required
  • Reviews travelers, prints, and insulation BOM; verifies material availability and condition.
  • Completes check sheets for vacuum readings pre/post insulation, critical for leak detection traceability.
  • Confirms vacuum integrity before starting insulation, per leak test protocol
  • Cuts, fits, and installs insulation on shells, heads, and piping; applies adhesives, bands, or jacketing as specified.
