About The Position

This role involves applying, removing, and repairing insulating material to various surfaces and structures such as air ducts, hot or cold pipes, storage tanks, boilers, and buildings. The primary goal is to control noise and maintain temperatures. The position requires reading blueprints, selecting appropriate insulation materials, and working at heights. Duties include preparing surfaces, measuring and cutting insulation materials like fiberglass, foam rubber, Styrofoam, cork, and urethane, and fitting them to specified sizes and shapes. The insulation is then secured using various tools and materials to seal it to the structure.

Requirements

Must be able to apply, remove, and repair insulating material.
Must be able to read blueprints.
Must be able to select required insulation material.
Must be able to work at heights with no fear.
Must be able to brush adhesives on or attach metal adhesive application to insulation material.
Must be able to determine amounts and select required insulation material.
Must be able to measure and cut insulation material to specified size and shape.
Must be able to fit, wrap, or attach required insulation material around or to the structure.
Must be able to cover or seal insulation.
Must be able to use a staple gun, trowel, paintbrush, or caulking gun.
Must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
Employees must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and use hands and fingers to perform assigned duties.
Employees must possess sufficient visual, hearing, communication, and motor skills to safely perform job responsibilities.
Employees must be able to read, comprehend, and follow safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies.

4 years of experience in scaffolding is preferred.

Responsibilities

Apply, remove, and repair insulating material to exposed surfaces or structures.
Read blueprints and select required insulation material.

Determine amounts and select required insulation material based on heat retention, location, surface, shape, and equipment use.

Use a staple gun, trowel, paintbrush, or caulking gun to secure insulation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
