Insulator / Metal Man
About The Position
The Mundy Companies is hiring an Insulator / Metal Man for a 4-6 week outage in the Pasadena, Texas area. This position involves working 7 x 12-hour shifts. Successful candidates will have continuous and current experience as an Insulator in a petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment. NCCER certification for Insulator is preferred, but not required. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a safe and efficient manner. Clear and concise oral and written communication skills are also necessary. All qualified applicants must be craft certified or possess the ability to pass a craft test, a criminal background check, and a pre-employment drug screen, along with other required qualifications.
Requirements
- Continuous and current experience as an Insulator in a petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment

Responsibilities
- Read blueprints and select required insulation material
- Brush adhesives on or attach metal adhesive backed pins to surfaces as necessary to facilitate the application of insulation material
- Use other forms of fastening such as staples, tape, or wire bands
- Measure and cut insulation material to specified size and shape for covering flat or round surfaces, using tape measure, knife, or scissors
- Fit, wrap, or attach required insulation material around or to structure, following blueprint specifications
- Cover or seal insulation with preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant, or tape to secure insulation to the structure according to type of insulation used and structure covered
- May be required to screw on sheet metal around insulated pipes to protect the insulation from weather conditions or physical abuse
- Maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all times
