About The Position

As an Insulation Operator, you will prepare detail components and assemblies using general shop tools and equipment to apply insulation to components and tube assemblies. Work will be performed within documented manufacturing processes, taking direction and obtaining training from the assigned lead. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and integrity of insulation application on precision tube and duct assemblies manufactured for major airframe manufacturers.

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to look at blueprints and understand dimensions once trained on basic blueprint reading skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the painting industry is highly beneficial
• Experience working with a variety of different metals is a plus
• Spray guns and general shop tools

Responsibilities

• Read and understand Steico drawings and mylars
• Cut foam insulation using scissors and other tools
• Tape and mask tubes to prep for insulation and paint
• Surface scuff tubes for gluing foam
• Glue and apply foam insulation to parts
• Paint insulation using an air sprayer
• Operate an oven to cure painted parts
• Perform touch-up paint and glue after painted parts have cured
• Adhere to 5S and safety requirements
• Perform equipment maintenance
• Use required PPE for the area
• Perform other reasonable duties as business and operational needs dictate
