About The Position

PK Industrial is seeking a detail-oriented Insulation, Coatings & Scaffolding Estimator with experience in soft craft industrial services. This full-time hybrid role is based in Augusta, KS and includes flexibility for partial remote work. The Estimator will analyze project specifications, conduct site visits, perform quantity take-offs, and prepare accurate, competitive bids. This position supports projects involving insulation, scaffolding, and industrial coatings applications, with fireproofing estimating experience strongly preferred. The role collaborates closely with project managers, clients, engineers, and vendors to ensure accurate estimates and successful project execution. Requirements

Proficiency with estimating software and tools.
Proficient in Excel, Bluebeam, Adobe, and CRM software.
Strong knowledge of insulation, scaffolding, and coatings; fireproofing experience preferred.
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Understanding of industrial safety regulations and requirements.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Experience in industrial services or construction industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to develop accurate estimates for insulation, scaffolding, and coatings work.
Perform detailed quantity take-offs and prepare comprehensive labor, material, and equipment cost estimates.
Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to gather pricing and clarify technical details.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure estimates align with project scope and requirements.
Provide value engineering insights and recommend alternate materials or methods for cost savings.
Prepare bid packages, budgets, and cost reports for proposal submissions.
Stay informed on industry trends, material pricing, and best practices in insulation, scaffolding, coatings, and fireproofing.
Lead estimating efforts on large or complex projects; mentor junior estimators as needed.
Conduct on-site assessments to evaluate project conditions and verify pricing assumptions.
Manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet critical deadlines.
