About The Position

Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is currently recruiting for an Instrumentation Technician to join their operations team. Alamos Gold is a Canadian-based gold producer with a strong track record and a commitment to social responsibility and environmental stewardship. The Young-Davidson mine is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines, located near Matachewan, Ontario. The company is seeking motivated and committed individuals to join their team, particularly those passionate about maintenance, instrumentation, and HVAC systems in a challenging, safety-focused environment. As an Instrumentation Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of instrumentation, HVAC, and process control systems. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of equipment to support safe and efficient mining operations, working closely with maintenance and operations teams to contribute to operational excellence through preventative maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Instrumentation, G1 Gas Technician, 313A Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in field maintenance of HVAC, refrigeration, natural gas, DCS, or PLC systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in industrial environments.
  • Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a gold milling or mining environment is considered an asset.
  • Electrical experience is considered an asset.
  • Computer networking or systems experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various on-site HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Install, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic process control equipment and instrumentation devices.
  • Support the installation and maintenance of automated valves, pressure indicators, flow meters, and related control systems.
  • Diagnose programming, technical, and performance issues associated with instrumentation, DCS, PLC, and related systems.
  • Execute scheduled preventative maintenance activities on a wide variety of instrumentation and mechanical equipment.
  • Run cables, terminate field devices, and perform equipment installations in accordance with site standards.
  • Work closely with operations and maintenance personnel while supporting additional duties as assigned by the Instrumentation Supervisor.
