Instrumentation Technician - Chickasaw, AL

Headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA, Turner Industries has over 20,000 employees across the United States. The Instrumentation Technician will join the maintenance team in the Chickasaw, AL area. This role involves conducting electronic and pneumatic instrumentation calibration, field and control room work, and instrument loop installation. The position is non-exempt and reports to the Foreman, with work checked frequently.
Requirements
- One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level).
- Post offer drug/alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
- Comply with company and client job site safety requirements.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
Responsibilities
- Conduct calibration of instrumentation both electronic and pneumatic, field and control room.
- Conduct installation of instrument loops.
- Receive, inventory, and catalog instruments for calibration according to the construction schedule.
- Set up calibration and loop files.
- Check the installation of instrument loops.
- Coordinate and run (or assist in) loop checks, including computer checkout as required.
- Maintain installation and completion records.
- Keep loop drawings updated.
- Install air tubing and control tubing runs.
- Work start-up following start-up procedures.
- Inspect meters, indicators, and gauges to detect abnormal fluctuations.
- Test the accuracy of flow meters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers, radiation counters or detectors, and other recording, indicating, or controlling instruments to locate defective components.
- Remove defective instruments from the system, decontaminate, disassemble, and clean them, and replace defective parts.
- Lubricate instruments and replace defective wiring and tubing.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
