The Research and Administrative Facilities (RAF) department manages the operations and maintenance of research and administrative buildings, including both the Bastrop and Smithville campuses. The RAF team also includes parking and transportation, audio visual and event operations, as well as the exterior site operations, all of which support all the Houston campuses and properties. This day‑shift role supports both administrative and school facilities and requires strong system‑level thinking with expertise in loops, networks, and controls. The position demands a true subject matter expert who can ensure reliable facility operations across complex systems. The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience supporting projects involving HVAC systems, mechanical or electrical controls, and reviewing technical project materials. They bring an intermediate controls background with hands-on HVAC exposure and strong project support capabilities, including assisting with outage shop responses. Experience in healthcare owner-side project management is highly preferred. A Journeyman Electrician License is a valuable plus. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm The salary range is $69,000 - $86,000 - $103,000 SUMMARY The primary purpose of the Instrumentation Technician position is to provide highly skilled technical work involving electronic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic controls of typical state-of-the-art hospital facilities systems and equipment. Impacts the installation, maintenance and repair of Institutional electronic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic controls and equipment (primarily HVAC and facility monitoring/control systems).
