About The Position

The Instrumentation Sales Specialist will drive account sales to meet Manufacturer and JHC goals. This role involves developing sales initiatives to close goal gaps at managed accounts, working closely with and following up on leads from the JHC sales team, and strategizing with manufacturers and the JHC sales team for program sales opportunities. The specialist will provide technical and sales support for initial cold calls, ensure quote qualification and follow-up through Salesforce, and maintain routine support of Vendor Managed Inventory accounts, expanding to other consumables beyond tube fittings. This position requires tracking and reporting pursuits weekly to management using Salesforce, engaging in cross-functional selling with JHC Account Managers and the Project Pursuit Team, and assisting the BU Director in managing manufacturer relationships. The role involves coordinating activities and strategies with the BU Director regarding market pursuits and projects, developing new customers, personally managing an account list, and maintaining client relationships through a structured schedule. Significant product training is required to become proficient in represented products, and role-playing with supervisors and peers is expected to develop selling skills. The job is demanding, requiring knowledge, commitment, and the ability to handle pressure, multi-tasking, and interruptions. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Drive account sales to meet Manufacturer and JHC goals.
  • Develop sales initiatives to provide goal gap closure at managed accounts.
  • Work in close conjunction with and follow up on leads from the JHC sales team.
  • Strategize with manufacturers and JHC sales team for program sales opportunities.
  • Support the JHC territory with technical and sales support for initial cold calls.
  • Ensure quote qualification and quote follow-up is implemented and driven through Salesforce.
  • Maintain routine consistent support of Vendor Managed Inventory accounts.
  • Expand sales to other consumables beyond tube fittings.
  • Track and report pursuits on a weekly basis to management utilizing Salesforce.
  • Engage in cross-functional selling with JHC Account Managers, JHC Project Pursuit Team and other Impact Partners.
  • Assist BU Director in managing manufacturer relationships with clients and John H. Carter Co.
  • Manage growth / market impact strategies and opportunities with end users and resellers.
  • Coordinate activities and strategies with BU Director involving market pursuits and projects in the territory.
  • Develop new customers.
  • Personally manage an Account list and develop relationships within those accounts to drive increased sales.
  • Manage a schedule to “touch” each of your clients with the required frequency to maintain that relationship.
  • Spend the required time in product training to become proficient in the represented products.
  • Role Play with Supervisor and peers to develop selling skills.
  • Manage expenses within budgetary constraints.
