Instrumentation Operations Engineers are responsible for integrating requirements and programming new instrumentation data acquisition equipment, FTI fiber system, analog and digital signal conditioning hardware during integration and flight test. Works independently or leads a team to execute project, schedule, and technical requirements to meet the goals of the test program. Oversees installation, checkout, and calibration of data systems, to ensure collected data can be properly displayed, processed, and analyzed. Maintains configuration control, and mission capability of the instrumentation system as well as all associated ground support equipment. Responsible for specification, selection, design, integration, operation and maintenance of airborne data acquisition systems, and their related components. This includes telemetry, flight test specific hardware, or prototypes for flight test evaluation. Support preflight, post-flight, and control room activities for all scheduled missions. Interface with test ops, maintenance, and management to ensure all instrumentation requirements are coordinated and accounted for. Must be able to demonstrate strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, excellent communicative skills, and the ability to work independently or with a team to execute project, schedule, and technical requirements to meet the goals of the test program. Must be willing to work extended hours, off-shift, and weekends as necessary and support occasional travel as required by the Test Program. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
