About The Position

Crimson Group is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Electrical Technician to support upstream oil and gas operations in Colorado. This position is ideal for a hands-on technician with strong troubleshooting and maintenance experience in automation and electrical systems. The schedule for this role is 7 days on / 7 days off, working from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience with maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and configuration of automation and control systems. Installation-only experience does not qualify.
  • Hands-on experience working with Allen-Bradley PLC systems is required.
  • Experience supporting midstream oil and gas operations is required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills related to automation, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with process control instrumentation, measurement devices, and communications systems.
  • Strong understanding of safe work practices and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Ability to work independently in remote field environments.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Electrician certification.
  • Experience with SCADA systems, RTUs, and industrial communications networks.
  • Experience supporting compressor stations, gas processing facilities, pipeline infrastructure, or terminal operations.
  • Familiarity with measurement systems and custody transfer equipment.
  • Experience with control valve maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on instrumentation, electrical, automation, and control systems within midstream facilities.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, configure, and maintain PLCs, RTUs, SCADA systems, analyzers, and process control equipment.
  • Support operations by responding to equipment failures and minimizing downtime.
  • Maintain and calibrate instrumentation, measurement equipment, and control systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, control schematics, and loop diagrams.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company and client standards.
  • Collaborate with operations personnel, engineers, and supervisors to improve system reliability and performance.
