The Instrumentation & Electrical Technician will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, inspection, calibration, and repairs of plant instrumentation and electrical systems. This role involves maintaining and troubleshooting industrial instruments and analyzers, including transmitters, programmable logic controllers, meters, and automatic valves. Additionally, the technician will maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment below 600 volts, such as motors, backup generators, uninterruptible power supplies, breakers, and transformers. The position requires knowledge of switchgear control systems and the ability to rack breakers in and out. Responsibilities include reading and maintaining P&IDs and schematic wiring diagrams, performing lock-out tag-out procedures, issuing permits for electrical work, and managing contractors to ensure safe and efficient electrical maintenance. The technician will also ensure compliance with functional testing requirements, maintain critical spare parts inventory, and plan/execute instrumentation and electrical activities during site outages. Understanding process loop interactions, proficiency with Allen Bradley PLCs, and supporting small projects for facility improvement are key aspects of the role. The technician will also utilize computerized maintenance management systems, support plant operations with control changes, and perform work outdoors in various conditions, at heights, or in confined spaces.
