About The Position

This role involves maintaining a safe and organized work environment and performing various electrical and instrumentation tasks. The technician will be responsible for minor electrical repairs and installations, both independently and as part of a team, and will complete all necessary documentation accurately and promptly. The position also includes on-the-job training for shop mechanic personnel. Employees are expected to comply with the Archrock Health Safety and Environmental Policy and all local, statutory, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform all assigned duties.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems arising during the test cycle.
  • Ability to troubleshoot motor controls (energized).
  • Ability to read blueprints and read/interpret NEC.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read General Adjustment and P&ID drawings.
  • Ability to communicate with suppliers of electrical components to design hook-ups on panels.
  • Ability to assist with mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to comply with all applicable safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Moderate understanding of compression service and functionality to understand customer needs.
  • Familiarity with MCC and switchgear.
  • Working knowledge of end devices and system flow.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 year related experience.
  • 2 years electrical experience.
  • Some experience in the area of electronics.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe and well-organized work environment.
  • Perform Minor Electrical repairs and installs alone or as part of a team.
  • Completes and submits required documentation in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Utilize on the job training of all shop mechanic personnel.
  • Install pneumatic tubing, layout tubing on skids, and connect to end devices.
  • Fabricate bracket braces and instrument racks.
  • Install wire and cable laid by hand, and in cable trays.
  • Assist with changes to panel selection, wiring, etc.
  • Maintain a file of installation design and technique for new units through pictures and diagrams.
  • Test control panels and make connections in compliance with 10lb pull tests.
  • Perform unit certification, final inspection, and test document.
  • Make final electrical connections after installation of conduit and tubing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
