About The Position

This role involves maintaining a safe and organized work environment and performing various electrical and instrumentation tasks. The technician will be responsible for minor electrical repairs and installations, both independently and as part of a team, and will complete all necessary documentation accurately and promptly. The position also includes on-the-job training for shop mechanic personnel. Employees are expected to comply with the Archrock Health Safety and Environmental Policy and all local, statutory, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Ability to perform all assigned duties.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems arising during the test cycle.
Ability to troubleshoot motor controls (energized).
Ability to read blueprints and read/interpret NEC.
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read General Adjustment and P&ID drawings.
Ability to communicate with suppliers of electrical components to design hook-ups on panels.
Ability to assist with mechanical assembly.
Ability to comply with all applicable safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Moderate understanding of compression service and functionality to understand customer needs.
Familiarity with MCC and switchgear.
Working knowledge of end devices and system flow.
High school diploma or equivalent.
1-3 year related experience.
2 years electrical experience.
Some experience in the area of electronics.

Responsibilities

Maintains a safe and well-organized work environment.
Perform Minor Electrical repairs and installs alone or as part of a team.
Completes and submits required documentation in an accurate and timely fashion.
Utilize on the job training of all shop mechanic personnel.
Install pneumatic tubing, layout tubing on skids, and connect to end devices.
Fabricate bracket braces and instrument racks.
Install wire and cable laid by hand, and in cable trays.
Assist with changes to panel selection, wiring, etc.
Maintain a file of installation design and technique for new units through pictures and diagrams.
Test control panels and make connections in compliance with 10lb pull tests.
Perform unit certification, final inspection, and test document.
Make final electrical connections after installation of conduit and tubing.
Performs other duties as assigned.
