About The Position

Oxea Corporation is a world leader in Oxo Chemicals, producing over 70 oxo intermediates and derivatives for a wide range of industries. Our chemicals are essential ingredients in products used daily worldwide. We employ over 1,400 people across plants in Germany, the USA, China, and the Netherlands. This role provides instrumentation and electrical (I&E) engineering support for plant reliability, troubleshooting, and small capital projects at the Bay City site, with occasional support for the Bishop site. The primary focus is on maintaining and improving instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. The position will collaborate closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Process Control teams, adhering to company standards, policies, and HSE requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or industrial plant environment
  • Hands-on experience with process instrumentation, including transmitters, control valves, analyzers, and electrical systems
  • Experience supporting Distributed Control Systems (DCS) such as DeltaV, Honeywell, or similar
  • Experience with commissioning, functional testing, and troubleshooting in a plant environment
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance systems and work processes
  • Experience using SAP (PM or PS modules preferred)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a plant environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Effective communication skills across Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Willingness to work in both field and office settings

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), including logic (ladder or function block) and functional testing
  • Experience supporting plant reliability and turnaround activities
  • Knowledge of plant work processes and continuous improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical design and execution of instrumentation and electrical projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Support plant reliability through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of instrumentation, analyzers, and electrical systems
  • Manage and execute small capital and reliability improvement projects from scope through implementation
  • Provide technical oversight and review of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), including functional checks and modifications
  • Perform technical review of instrumentation and control system designs and changes
  • Support commissioning, startup, and functional testing of instrumentation and control systems
  • Partner with Operations and Maintenance to resolve day-to-day equipment and process control issues
  • Support process control efforts, including loop tuning, control strategy improvements, and troubleshooting DCS-related issues
  • Analyze plant data and performance trends to identify improvement opportunities
  • Assist in development and maintenance of plant standards for instrumentation and electrical systems
  • Support SAP PM/PS activities related to maintenance and project execution
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
