Instrumentation & Controls Technician
About The Position
The Instrumentation & Controls Technician is responsible for the maintenance of all electrical control devices within the plant. This role involves reading and interpreting electrical drawings, troubleshooting controls and electrical systems, and ensuring the proper operation of all plant equipment. The technician will be fluent in the installation and programming of electrical devices including VFDs, PLCs, and instrumentation, and will be responsible for loading programming and drawing Ladder Logic diagrams. The position also includes assisting with facility maintenance and repair, and ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 6 years of work experience in instrumentation & controls.
- Must have experience in troubleshooting systems and circuits, preferably with Allen-Bradley.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of 4 20mA systems.

Responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and instructions to rebuild, install and calibrate equipment.
- Aid and assist procurement of Electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoot controls and electrical system to ensure proper operation of all plant equipment.
- Be able to communicate and interface with upper management in a responsible and professional manner.
- Be fluent in installation and programming all electrical devices to include VFDs, PLCs, and instrumentation.
- Responsible for the loading of programming and installation of it into PLC's and/or the drawing of Ladder Logic diagrams to match such.
- Aid in the facility maintenance/repair as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations and programs.
- Keep all maintenance up-to-date as well as stay current with all reporting/recordkeeping requirements.
- All other duties as assigned.
