This is an on site field support position at Surry Nuclear Power Station. You will work on a multi-discipline engineering team involved in nuclear power plant instrumentations and controls betterment projects, which integrate electrical and mechanical engineering with control theory. Your work will involve electronic process sensors, digital controllers, touchscreen displays, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, steam turbines, and reactors to improve nuclear power plant functionality. You will prepare specifications for instrumentation and controls equipment procurement and engineering calculations for plant upgrades and modifications. The role offers mentoring, classroom-style technical sessions, and on-the-job training to enhance engineering knowledge and skills. Opportunities for travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for project coordination and field verification are also part of the role. You are expected to solve engineering problems using modern tools like automation and AI to improve workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs. This includes building or using automation for calculations, summarizing technical documents, or drafting design documentation, with appropriate use of agentic AI tools and strong engineering judgment.
