About The Position

Garver's Water Design Center (WDC) in Fayetteville, AR is seeking a passionate Instrumentation and Controls Intern. This internship offers hands-on experience in design within a dynamic and professional environment, contributing to innovative solutions for community water needs. The intern will collaborate with a team of water treatment facility planning and design experts.

Requirements

Must be pursuing an electrical, electronics, computer, or automation engineering degree from an ABET or ATMAE accredited program.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience with AutoCAD or Revit design software.
Previous internship experience.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the engineering team to create detailed instrumentation and control designs.
Assist with designs of SCADA systems and industrial Ethernet network architectures.
Develop control schematics for process control equipment such as PLC panels, motor starters, and variable frequency drive enclosures.
Development of P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and loop diagrams for various processes and systems.
Participate in the selection of appropriate instrumentation components, such as sensors, transmitters, valves, and actuators.
Collaborate on the integration of control systems with other engineering disciplines, such as electrical and mechanical engineering.
Aid in the preparation of technical documentation, including equipment datasheets, specifications, and manuals.
Assist in the review and evaluation of vendor proposals and technical submittments to ensure alignment with project requirements.
Participate in internal design reviews and team meetings, actively sharing insights and learning from experienced engineers.
