About The Position

Join our dynamic team in Milpitas, CA as an Instrument Test Technician 2, where you’ll be at the forefront of testing and troubleshooting advanced flow cytometers and medical device products. This contractor position offers hands-on experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment, working Monday through Friday with possible contract extension. Engage daily with cross-functional teams and sharpen your technical skills while contributing to the production of life-changing medical technology.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in high-tech manufacturing, with a focus on medical device environments.
• Proficient in testing and troubleshooting laser-based optical, fluidic systems, and digital/analog circuitry.
• Skilled in using DVMs, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other electronic test equipment.
• Strong PC user, highly proficient with Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and networking environments.
• Solid understanding of ISO 9000, cGMP 21 CFR part 820, LEAN Manufacturing, and Six Sigma tools.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interpret technical documents.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to lift up to 35 lbs daily.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Demand Flow Technology (DFT).
• Background in supporting complex engineering projects and new product introductions.
• Familiarity with creating and updating process documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct production testing and inspection on assembled medical devices to ensure top-tier performance and compliance.
• Optimize instruments post-assembly, including laser alignment, pressure adjustments, and electrical tuning.
• Perform system and subassembly troubleshooting, identify root cause of failures, and implement effective solutions.
• Replace or repair defective components, accurately complete required documentation, and manage Device History Records (DHR).
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and QA to improve test methods, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement.
• Participate in project teams focused on quality improvement, cost reduction, and new product introduction.
• Collect, analyze, and report key performance data and metrics to support operational excellence.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols.
• Keep training records current and complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
