Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.
  • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience or completed apprenticeship.
  • Instrument Technician training certification or degree (generally a 2-year program).
  • Ability to follow and carry out written and oral instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic equipment operation experience is desirable.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including rotating shift assignment.
  • Ability to function well as a member of the work team.
  • Instrumentation troubleshooting (advanced) aptitude.
  • Significant knowledge and experience with electrical safety.
  • Able to demonstrate aptitude for electrical safety in an industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of industrial standards for instrumentation calibration methods and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Nuclear Radiation detection/measurement instrumentation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Use, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain: Computerized equipment control systems.
  • Pneumatic and electronic process control instrumentation.
  • Process analytical equipment such as pH and conductivity.
  • Balance, scale, and weigh systems.
  • Standard, special and state of the art laboratory analysis equipment.
  • Environmental HVAC control systems.
  • Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery.
  • Vacuum equipment and systems.
  • Standard and computerized data collection and system monitoring equipment.
  • Measure pressure, temperature, flow and level, and must apply such testing standards in performing scheduled instrument and system calibration procedures.
