We are seeking an Instrument Support Electrical Engineer to support the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) neutron scattering instruments and associated infrastructure. This role performs hands-on electrical design and troubleshooting — panel layouts, wiring schematics, power distribution, and cable/equipment specification — to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of HFIR Beamline Operations (HBO) systems, consistent with the safety and regulatory standards that govern reactor facility operations. Work spans power distribution systems, electrical design for beamline instruments and conventional facilities, and experimental equipment support. This position resides in the HFIR Instrument Support Group in the HFIR Beamline Operations Section, Neutron Scattering Division, Neutron Sciences Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
