About The Position

Responsible for troubleshooting and repair of clinical and commercial products. Operates electrical and mechanical test equipment. Responsible for performing a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies. Works on assignments where judgment and initiative is required in resolving problems and making recommendations.

Requirements

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required
1+ year of applicable technical experience required with troubleshooting and repairing in a related field such as electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, computer, automotive, etc.

Effective verbal communication skills
Written Communications - including the ability to communicate technical data in written form
Technical learning aptitude to quickly understand and acquire new technical knowledge and skills.
Skilled in MS Office tools to include but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
Basic: demonstrates fundamental awareness and can perform routine tasks with guidance
Work from established drawings
Maintain written records
Use specialized equipment
Decisions with short-term impact: Operational or tactical choices affecting immediate outcomes and daily team performance. With supervisory review/approval required.
Decisions with long-term impact: Strategic choices influencing future direction, sustainability, and alignment with bioMérieux’s mission. With supervisory review/approval required.

Nice To Haves

Associates degree in technical discipline and/or related on the job training or certifications
Experience with soldering, multimeter usage a plus.

Responsibilities

Follow written work instructions and collect all relevant data.
Troubleshoots electromechanical problems
Works with Engineering/Production to implement design and/or process improvements
Maintains records that comply with regulatory requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
Consults with customer service, instrument production, etc. as needed.
Responsible for maintaining parts and materials in service area.
Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
