About The Position

Tectonic is looking for an Instrument Person to join our growing team in Glastonbury, CT. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting exciting land surveying projects while collaborating closely with a Professional Land Surveyor.

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year surveying experience.
Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of surveying equipment.
Detail oriented.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Available to work overtime as needed.
Available for travel for overnight assignments.
HS Diploma or equivalent.
Valid, clean driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

AAS in Surveying a plus.
May be able to obtain OSHA training within a reasonable period of time.

Responsibilities

Setup, maintenance, and operation of all field survey equipment.
Operation of survey instruments in the field including total stations, levels, data collectors, GPS, and other standard survey equipment.
Prepare survey sites and remove all obstacles, including debris, brush, tree limbs, etc.
Maintain neat and accurate field records and survey notes.
Assist the Crew Chief in day-to-day field operations.
Maintain field vehicles and supplies.
Upload and download data collection information and photographs.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
