About The Position

The Instrument Mechanic troubleshoots, installs, repairs, adjusts, maintains, and calibrates indicating, recording, and controlling pneumatic and electronic instruments, valves, analyzers, control systems, and related electrical equipment in a petroleum refinery. The role measures and controls process variables such as pressure, flow, level, temperature, motion, force, and chemical composition, and uses schematics, P&IDs, loop sheets, and knowledge of digital control systems to identify and resolve equipment problems. The position works in an industrial refinery environment, indoors and outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Work may involve confined spaces, heights, moving or rotating equipment, chemicals and petroleum products, electrical hazards, noise, vibration, and hazardous or flammable materials. The schedule must be flexible and may include overtime, weekend work, callouts, and rotating 12-hour shifts as business needs require. Candidates must complete a Safety and Craft Specific Test at Tulsa Technology Center to be considered. The role also supports safety and environmental programs, reports incidents and unsafe conditions, and may perform additional maintenance-support duties as assigned. HF Sinclair describes its workplace culture through the values of Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, Ownership, and Inclusion.
