The Instrument Mechanic will safely complete Instrument and Electrical tasks as scheduled or assigned, coordinating Instrument/Electrical jobs with other crafts, work groups, and contractors. This role involves planning, installing, and testing according to recognized electrical practices and in compliance with Ontario Hydro Electrical Standards, within a variety of apparatus, control equipment, wiring, and power equipment for light and power systems. The position requires working with Production & Maintenance to obtain, verify, and sign permits, and maintaining high ethical and behavioral standards. The successful candidate will maintain good knowledge of the group backlog and overall site team priorities. Work schedules may include overtime and on-call availability, which is an expectation of employment. The role is responsible for craft compliance to all LANXESS Procedures and Standards, providing feedback/review on I&E Job Plans, Work Procedures, Quality Standards, and MI Procedures. Accountability extends to ensuring all Instrument/Electrical deficiencies/findings have a Work Notification and for timely completion of all I&E Work Histories, including documentation. The position involves attending scheduled meetings with informative, detailed communication to site teams and maintaining ISO 9001 & 14000 calibration verification & documentation. Additional responsibilities include working with other maintenance staff to develop short-term work plans & PM schedules, obtaining part or service quotations from suppliers, developing Instrument/Electrical Work Procedures, MI procedures and forms, assisting in the development of an Instrument/Electrical Skills Matrix, conducting Mechanical Integrity work (specifically Critical Interlock testing of instrumentation), and entering Time Confirmations and Materials against Work Orders.
