About The Position

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Instrument Man to support our survey field crews in collecting accurate data for a variety of land development and infrastructure projects. This position works under the direction of the Survey Crew Chief and plays a key role in daily field operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working outdoors in a team-oriented environment.

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma/GED
0–2 years of experience in surveying preferred
Basic understanding of surveying principles
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record
Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of environments and weather conditions.
Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds over uneven or rough ground.
May need to walk, stand, bend, or kneel for extended periods.
May need to clear vegetation, dig holes, and drive stakes using hand tools.
Must be able to perform the physical tasks required to carry out the essential duties of the position safely and effectively.
Employment requires passing a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Support efficient project completion by assisting the Survey Crew Chief with daily field operations and data collection
Operate and help maintain survey equipment, including total stations, GPS units, and data collectors
Set up and break down survey instruments to ensure proper calibration
Collect and record field data accurately and efficiently
Mark points, stake locations, and assist with construction layout activities
Maintain clear and organized field notes and documentation
Transport equipment and materials to and from job sites
Adhere to company safety policies and field procedures
