About The Position

Rabalais I&E Constructors seeks an Instrument General Foreman for our Texas City, Tx jobsites. In summary, an Instrument General Foreman must balance technical instrument expertise with construction site leadership, ensuring that all instrumentation work is completed safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards. The Instrument General Foreman combines the leadership responsibilities of a general foreman with the technical expertise of an instrument foreman, overseeing the installation, calibration, and maintenance of process control instruments while ensuring safety, quality, and compliance. Requirements

  • Must be able to furnish own transportation to and from job sites or staging areas.

  • Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must not use illegal drugs or excessive alcohol and must consent to a drug and alcohol test when required.

  • Physically, workers must be able to lift and carry objects related to performing the job task.
  • A valid Texas Electrical Apprentice License is required.

Nice To Haves

  • A valid Texas driver’s license is preferred but will accept a State or Government issued Identification card.
  • Osha 10 a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate a team of instrument technicians, electricians, conduit fitters, and other trades, ensuring efficient utilization of manpower
  • Plan daily work schedules, prepare material and tool lists, and ensure all drawings, spares, and equipment are available
  • Liaise with supervisors, engineers, and other project managers to align work with project timelines and specifications
  • Act as the primary field contact for resolving technical and crew-related issues
  • Oversee installation of instruments and equipment in accordance with approved construction drawings and approved methods
  • Perform or supervise instrument calibration, loop checks, and troubleshooting to ensure systems operate correctly
  • Manage terminations, grounding, cable pulling, and dressing as required
  • Interpret P&IDs, instrument drawings, and blueprints to guide installation and maintenance
  • Ensure all personnel are trained in safe tool use, identify and report unsafe conditions, and take immediate action to isolate hazards
  • Implement and enforce safety, environmental, and quality standards; conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks
  • Perform and update risk assessments, and maintain a safe work environment
  • Prepare and submit daily work reports, including completed tasks, materials used, and any issues or delays
  • Maintain logs of work performed and submit progress reports to engineers
  • Keep accurate installation records and “as-built” drawings throughout the project
  • Arrange and ensure availability of all essential spares, tools, and materials
  • Supervise maintenance and recommend repairs to keep tools and equipment in good working order
