About The Position

INVISTA Orange, TX site is seeking technicians with electrical and/or instrumentation experience who are interested in building additional capability across electrical, instrument and analyzer disciplines. In this role, you will help support safe, reliable, and competitive operations by troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving instrumentation and electrical equipment throughout the facility. Our Maintenance team includes skilled Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical, and Pipefitter technicians. The team works closely with Operations, Reliability, Process Engineering, and Safety groups to ensure safe and reliable operation of the facility. Our culture emphasizes safety, teamwork, technical excellence, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate on turnaround and outage activities, preventive maintenance, root cause analyses, and reliability improvements while supporting site operational objectives. This team works a 4/10 schedule with overtime as needed.

Requirements

3+ years of instrumentation, I&E, electrical, or related maintenance experience in a heavy industrial, chemical, or petrochemical facility
Experience troubleshooting, calibrating, testing, inspecting, or repairing instrumentation and/or electrical equipment
Experience reading and working from electrical drawings, loop sheets, and P&IDs
Required to wear any or all of the following PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, goggles, hard hats, FRC, acid suits, breathing air, gloves, safety boots, respirators, arc flash suits, and encapsulated suits. PPE use is in accordance with the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for a given task.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Ability to work in hot, cold, and inclement climate conditions.
Must be able to work in confined spaces with supplied breathing air and congested areas.
Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, ladders on vessels and columns, and ladders associated with scaffolds in excess of eighty feet.
Must be able to work on call schedule.

Nice To Haves

5+ years’ experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or refining facility
Experience with analyzer equipment
Experience leading troubleshooting efforts on instrumentation systems and serving as a technical resource for instrumentation-related equipment issues.
Experience facilitating RCA and Failure Mode Cause Analysis
Experience using SAP or other CMMS systems
Experience with Honeywell systems or field device management tools
Associate degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Technology, Process Technology, or related field

Responsibilities

Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and electrical equipment
Troubleshoot and repair field instrumentation including transmitters, control valves, actuators, positioners, RTDs, thermocouples, flow devices, and related equipment
Troubleshoot electrical systems including motors, starters, relays, transformers, disconnects, breakers, drives, and associated electrical equipment
Support analyzer equipment and analyzer-related instrumentation as needed
Perform routine preventive maintenance and condition-based maintenance activities
Support operations during startup, shutdown, and outage activities
Develop new maintenance procedures and improve existing procedures
Maintain inspection, calibration, and maintenance documentation
Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams to strengthen team capability and equipment reliability
Develop recommendations for improving instrumentation and electrical system performance
Perform root cause analyses and recommend corrective and preventive actions
Coordinate with third-party vendors for technical support, repairs, and replacement parts
Support Team-Based Maintenance initiatives and reliability improvements
