About The Position

Hunt Electric, Inc. and Instrument Control Center (ICC) of Salt Lake City, UT is searching for a full-time Panel Technician to join our team within the Instrument Control Division. This person will report directly to the Production Supervisor and assist in the production of Instrument Control Panels. Attention to detail and following step by step instructions will lead you to a successful panel build out. Requirements

  • Strong reading comprehension, attention to detail and organized.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs to 100lbs.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and/or weekends when needed.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in all types of measuring tools as required.
  • Proficient in using computers to obtain and document information.

Responsibilities

  • Building industrial control panels.
  • Ability to read schematics and diagrams on installation of parts, wire, and components.
  • Learn to test and troubleshoot with a meter for accuracy.
  • Become knowledgeable of UL 508A standards and practices.
  • Become knowledgeable of wire types and sizes.
  • Learn the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Learn the electrical fundamentals.
  • Maintain appropriate work appearance: Work pants worn in a conventional manner with no tears. Work boots.
  • Proficient in basic math (algebra)
  • Possess knowledge of basic hand tools and ability to use and care for them.
  • Ability to learn to route wires neatly.
  • Actively contributes to a positive team environment.
  • Demonstrates dependability with regular attendance and compliance to scheduled work hours.
  • Be a self starter.
  • Other duties or locations as assigned by Manager.
