About The Position

HiFyve is hiring an Instrument and Electrical Technician in the Manufacturing industry in Alsip, IL. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of electrical and instrumentation systems on production and facility equipment. The technician will diagnose and repair various electrical components, read and interpret technical drawings, and participate in emergency repairs and planned outages, including an on-call rotation. Responsibilities also include maintaining equipment history in SAP, supporting electrical and instrumentation projects, sourcing parts, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent combination of education and industrial electrical/instrumentation experience.
  • Documentation qualifying the candidate as an Electrical Qualified Person (Certified Electrician) required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of electrical and instrumentation systems on production and facility equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair motors, switchgear, MCCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), electrical distribution systems, and power panels ranging from 120V AC to 480V 3-phase.
  • Read and interpret one-line drawings, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and work orders to complete maintenance activities accurately.
  • Perform emergency repairs during production as well as scheduled maintenance during planned outages, including participation in the on-call rotation.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, maintain equipment history, and update PMs and equipment records within SAP.
  • Support electrical and instrumentation projects by assisting with equipment specification, sourcing, installation, startup, and troubleshooting, including support for DCS instrumentation.
  • Source and purchase electrical and instrumentation parts while coordinating with outside vendors and contractors as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, HSEQ, company policies, and applicable electrical codes while participating in site safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
