About The Position

The I&E Maintenance technician is responsible for ensuring all required tools, parts, and supplies are available for each job performed. They will complete required service records and are responsible for recommending and/or initiating equipment modifications and/or replacement of electrical components, as well as performing and supporting the installation of new equipment. This role provides support to operations in running machines to safely maximize efficiency and productivity, assists with troubleshooting equipment issues, and addresses downtime issues promptly and effectively. The technician will lead and/or participate in root cause analysis for operating problems, troubleshoot electrical or control issues by reading logic in DCS, MDC, or PLCs, and troubleshoot control issues using diagnostic equipment. They will also troubleshoot issues related to paper machine coordinated drives, maintain necessary spares to ensure equipment availability, and effectively utilize and maintain the SAP Maintenance System, including following all computer-based and paper processes for work order completion and documentation. Technicians will work to maintain the integrity of the facility and operating equipment to ensure on-going safe, reliable operations, which includes maintaining housekeeping standards, performing required inspections, and completing maintenance care responsibilities & initiating & assisting equipment repair as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to work 2nd Shift, Monday thru Friday, 300 PM until 1130 PM.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalence required.
  • 2 year technical degree or 5 years industrial work experience in relevant electrical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience as IE technician.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills is required.
  • Basic mathematic and numeracy skills required.
  • Ability to work in a Team environment.
  • Committed to safety & organizational goals.
  • Self-motivated able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Available for on-call duty.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and stand for continuous periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in a hot, humid, noisy and high volume machine production area.
  • Ability and willingness to work safely and wear PPE as required.

Nice To Haves

  • PLC, DCS, VFD experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage costs that they have the ability to impact wisely and eliminate waste (i.e. parts, tools, time, personnel), and take the initiative to bring forward and resolve issues.
  • Continuously strive to reduce Stores inventory requirements by increasing reliability through predictive monitoring, scheduled and preventative maintenance.
  • Debottleneck operation by addressing upcoming production’s needs and proactively resolving issues prior to scheduled requirements.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Perform inspections as required.
  • Complete maintenance care responsibilities & initiating & assisting equipment repair as needed.
