Responsible for supervising maintenance work crews. Responsible for interfacing and coordinating with the station work groups and processes to ensure smooth execution of scheduled work activities in the maintenance department. Serve as owners of assigned components acting as the fleet's focal point for strategy and technical expertise to optimize component performance; supervise and lead teams in complex troubleshooting and evaluation of nuclear power plant component equipment; Develop timely resolutions to short-term equipment issues; assessment of adverse equipment conditions and development of long-range equipment improvement plans including budget development. Monitor and evaluate preventative maintenance and facilitate efforts to increase reliability and lower operating and maintenance costs; act as a decision maker for outage scope in assigned areas Provide technical and personnel leadership and coaching to the site engineering and maintenance staff. This includes mentoring of new personnel and existing personnel to new technologies. Establishing and enforcing quality expectations for engineering and maintenance products and driving continuous improvement. Use the long term asset management process to develop and track long term major maintenance plans for critical and non critical components; High Impact Team leads for on-line major maintenance and outages; provide oversight and supervision of major maintenance contractors Develop and maintain a long term strategy to increase the skills and knowledge of maintenance personnel; provide input to the maintenance training and procedures associated with identified components; to include critical information necessary to perform precision maintenance Perform applicable Maintenance Discipline Supervisor duties during periods of high demand such as outages or major work windows.
