About The Position

Shepherds Ministries is hiring two Instructors to support their upcoming Empowered 4 Life Center in Franklin, TN. Shepherds Ministries is dedicated to helping young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities develop greater independence, believing that students thrive in an environment designed specifically for them. The Instructor for the Empowered 4 Life Center will facilitate academic development for students by providing practical classroom training and instruction, promoting students’ growth towards Appropriate Independence™. Shepherds College, a Christ-centered, post-secondary school for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, aims to equip young adults with these disabilities to live with purpose, confidence, and faith. For over 15 years, they have created a supportive community where students are challenged, celebrated, and trained to live more independently, all while pointing their lives toward Christ. The mission is to empower students with intellectual and developmental disabilities by equipping them with the skills, support, and spiritual foundation they need to live lives of dignity, purpose, and Appropriate Independence™, nurturing each student's God-given potential with compassion, excellence, and truth.

Responsibilities

Instruct classes as assigned, incorporating differentiated instruction to promote learning for all students.
Evaluate the academic needs of students and assist in the selection of appropriate curriculum materials which meet the needs of students and the objectives of the program.
Present lessons utilizing effective instructional methods.
Assess students’ knowledge, understanding, and skill acquisition regularly.
Complete and maintain student records, including attendance and grades, on an ongoing basis.
