About The Position

An Instructor position is available immediately in the Division of Medical Physics and Engineering within the Department of Radiation Oncology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. This position is ideal for an individual interested in pursuing a career in computational medical physics, medical engineering, and clinical software development. This position is part of an ongoing effort to translate our extensive research in artificial intelligence and other computational fields into clinical practice.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in physics, engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, or a related discipline.
• Strong programming skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Initiative.
• Problem-solving ability.
• Strong commitment to teamwork.

Nice To Haves

• Passion for scientific programming.
• Demonstrated experience developing software tools for research or clinical applications.
• Contributions to open-source software through platforms such as GitHub, Stack Overflow, and CodeProject.
• Experience with web-based application frameworks.
• Experience with database management.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++/C#, JavaScript, and Go.
• Knowledge of Django, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Develop software tools for research or clinical applications.
• Work closely with clinical medical physicists and researchers in Medical Artificial Intelligence and Automation Lab.
