About The Position

The College of Agriculture at Louisiana State University seeks applicants for a 12-month Instructor position. This position is described as 100% teaching and advising. The individual filling this position is expected to teach three 3-credit hour courses in the fall and spring semester and serve as the undergraduate coordinator for the AEEE department.

Requirements

M.S. in Agricultural Education, Adult Education, or closely related discipline.
3 years of experience
Must have valid U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and maintain that valid work authorization throughout employment.

Responsibilities

Teach a variety of agricultural content courses including agricultural mechanics, welding, environmental education, agriscience, and contests and coaching courses.
Supervise student teachers.
Advise undergraduate students.
Participate in the recruitment of undergraduate and graduate students.
Serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
Provide professional development training and support to Louisiana agriscience teachers.
Other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Assist students in the acquisition of necessary services. Should a student appear in need of or seek assistance with issues of an emotional, behavioral, or mental health related matter they should be referred to the proper service within the Student Health Center. In situations where the student creates an impression that they are a danger to themselves or others, the advisor should immediately contact the Care Team, the Dean of Students or the appropriate law enforcement agency. The employee outside of those rights contained within FERPA should create no impression of client or patient confidentiality.
