About The Position

The purpose of this job is to teach 24-30 classroom and lab hours per week in the Welding Curriculum. Work with the Dean in recruiting students; maintain required documentation; maintain classroom/lab and any equipment; enforce safety regulations and perform a variety of related duties.

Requirements

Minimum of welding diploma or welding certificates and five years of work experience, advanced training and/or related work experience in specified teaching area preferred.
Welding, Blueprint Reading, and Schematics.
Knowledge of college policies and procedures.
Knowledge of State Board Policies including Career and College Promise.
Knowledge of local LEAs.
Knowledge of curriculum and continuing education program content.
Skilled in Microsoft Office products.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

advanced training and/or related work experience in specified teaching area preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage instructional program and teach 24-30 classroom and lab hours per week in the Welding program.
Teaching assignments may be scheduled on either campus during the day, evening, weekends or online.
Recruit students for the program and ensure that promotional information is current and accurate.
Assist the Dean in recruiting, hiring, and mentoring qualified adjunct faculty for the Welding program.
Advise students through the program using current information.
Develop and maintain accessible syllabi and course materials specific to the program.
Coordinate textbook selection, library resources, equipment, and supplies to enhance learning.
Assist the Dean with class scheduling.
Raise funds through grants and/or other means to meet the financial needs of the program.
Participate in professional development activities that benefit the program.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean, or the Vice President, Instruction.
