This role involves teaching classes and labs, instructing students on the use of shop equipment, and maintaining a working knowledge of welding symbols and specifications. The instructor will collaborate with other faculty and the program chair in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring adherence to the common course library and integrating market needs and advisory committee recommendations. Responsibilities include preparing and distributing course syllabi, implementing active learning techniques, focusing on student learning outcomes, and accommodating individual student differences while maintaining academic integrity. The role also involves performing administrative duties such as holding office hours, advising students, recording student data, participating in college committees, and assisting with recruiting and new course development. The instructor may teach day or evening classes and is expected to be on campus for a minimum of five office hours per week, in addition to attending mandatory meetings and campus activities.
