About The Position

As an Instructor Pilot at CAE, your role soars beyond training. You build confidence and skill, inspire mastery, and ensure pilots are prepared for the moments that matter. Whether leading simulator sessions or pre-flight briefings, you’ll contribute to CAE’s legacy of flight training excellence while keeping your own skills sharp. The Instructor Pilot is responsible for delivering high‑quality flight simulator and ground school training in accordance with applicable regulatory agency requirements, CAE‑approved curricula, and customer standards. Acting as a subject matter expert (SME), the Instructor Pilot leads clients through their training experience while ensuring professionalism, safety, and instructional excellence. After approximately 1.5 years, and based on business needs, designated instructors are expected to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman.

Requirements

  • Hold, or meet qualifications to obtain, an unrestricted ATP certificate and a minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating.
  • Must be typed on Phenom 300.
  • Strong passion for teaching with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and other internet‑based applications.
  • Must participate in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.
  • Must be authorized to live and work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience flying business aircraft and single pilot.
  • Prior instructional or training experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to tailor instruction to a diverse, global customer base.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records in compliance with CAE and FAA requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver simulator and classroom instruction on assigned aircraft types for licenses, type ratings, certificates, and pilot qualifications.
  • Conduct thorough and professional pre‑ and post‑flight simulator briefings in accordance with CAE standards.
  • Maintain accurate training records, track instructional qualifications, and recommend remedial training when required.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in the development and maintenance of curricula and courseware when needed.
  • Provide a professional, welcoming learning environment while delivering consistent, customer‑focused training.
