About The Position

The YMCA of Metro Denver is seeking a Part-Time Pilates Reformer Instructor to lead engaging and inclusive classes, catering to individuals at all levels. This role involves both group instruction and private sessions, offering opportunities for deeper connection and support of individual wellness goals. The Pilates Reformer Instructor will be part of the Health and Wellness Team, responsible for delivering professional customer service and fostering a welcoming environment at the YMCA through expert instruction in Pilates Reformer. The incumbent must embody the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all interactions. Requirements

  • National Pilates Reformer certification with a minimum of 40 hours
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands to grip, handle and feel objects, and reach with arms and legs
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Specific vision abilities required: close up and distance vision, clear peripheral vision
  • Acute hearing skills
  • Compliance with YMCA abuse prevention policies, including screening, training, supervision, and reporting requirements

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an instructor for Pilates Reformer Classes
  • Be 10-15 minutes early for class and stay 10-15 minutes after to arrange equipment, clean up, do appropriate record keeping, read notices, and visit with participants
  • Participate in all staff meetings called by the Health and Wellness Director/Supervisor
  • Find a substitute for a class when unable to instruct and inform the supervisor in writing of the substitution
  • Follow and enforce all YMCA procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, safety guidelines, facility access procedures, and membership policies
  • Carry out emergency plans as necessary
  • Maintain a clean and safe YMCA
  • Take initiative to clean up/repair areas
  • Be dressed in appropriate attire and wear a nametag
  • Attend and remain current on all mandatory trainings and staff meetings
  • Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA annual support campaign
  • Ensure the safety and enjoyment of all members and guests in our facility
  • Identify leaders for recruitment of volunteer/staff
  • Perform any other duties as assigned
