About The Position

Full-time 12-month, non-tenured faculty appointment in the EMS-Paramedic program at Bluegrass Community & Technical College. The role involves instruction, clinical evaluation, curriculum development support, program operation assistance, and coordination with clinical sites and EMS agencies.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree (minimum)
  • Knowledgeable about current versions of the National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Education Standards and evidenced-informed clinical practice
  • Current Paramedic license or current National Registry Paramedic certification
  • Completion of a KBEMS approved EMS educator course that meets the objectives of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and possess a valid KBEMS Paramedic Level Instructor certification
  • Documented experience in emergency medicine/prehospital care

Responsibilities

  • Instruction in Paramedic program approved curriculum
  • Evaluation and assessment of students in a clinical setting
  • Participate with periodic review and revision of course materials
  • Support and assist the Program Director to help assure effective program operation and accreditation
  • Orient clinical site and EMS agency preceptors to ensure education objectives are met
  • Schedule students with clinical sites and EMS agencies
  • Maintain current knowledge of the discipline through continuing professional development
  • Travel and instruction on various campuses may be required
  • Other duties as assigned
