About The Position

New Mexico Highlands University is seeking an Instructor of English for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position. The instructor will primarily teach English composition courses, including ENGL 1060, 1110, and 1120, up to 30 credits during the academic year. Responsibilities include attending composition and department meetings, advising and mentoring undergraduate students, holding office hours, and assisting with program assessment and extracurricular events. Other duties may be assigned.

• Knowledge of and experience teaching English composition classes.

Responsibilities

• Teaching up to 30 credits during the academic year, primarily ENGL 1060, 1110, and 1120.
• Attending composition meetings and department meetings.
• Advising and mentoring undergraduate students.
• Attending meetings/training during Faculty Development Days.
• Holding 5 office hours per week.
• Assisting with undergraduate English program outcomes assessment.
• Assisting with extracurricular events.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
