About The Position

The permanent responsibility of a faculty member is to provide the most effective instruction possible in his/her discipline. Supervision is received from appropriate supervisor. The faculty member works to ensure that his/her instruction is meeting the educational needs of students. Pay for this position is based on a 10.5 month contract.

Requirements

  • Cosmetology Operators license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
  • A certificate of cosmetology instructor training of 500 hours or more if the candidate did not previously hold a Cosmetology Operators Instructors’ license prior to September 1, 2021.
  • A minimum of three years relevant work experience.
  • Meet minimum requirements for teaching at the post-secondary level set by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and accrediting agencies for individual programs.
  • Criminal background check required.
  • Resume outlining relevant work experience.
  • Current Texas Cosmetology Operator License Issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
  • Proof of Instructor Qualification: A Cosmetology Operator Instructor License issued before September 1, 2021, OR A certificate showing completion of at least 500 hours of cosmetology instructor training.
