About The Position

Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) is seeking a Part-Time Instructor for their Nursing program. This role is crucial to the college's mission of changing lives and building community by providing high-quality instruction to support student success, retention, and graduation rates. The instructor will be responsible for delivering engaging content that meets the needs of diverse learners and helps students achieve their educational goals. Classes are assigned on an as-needed basis, with hours varying by term and student enrollment. Being part of the regular part-time instructor pool does not guarantee employment.

Requirements

  • Conferred Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Nursing.
  • Two (2) years of recent clinical experience
  • Current unrestricted/ unencumbered RN license, NM/Compact license or eligible for NM licensure (if from a non-compact state) – Please include your license number on your resume.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous teaching experience in a school of nursing or in a clinical education role.
  • Conferred MSN degree and/or doctoral degree in Nursing. (BSN candidates actively working on an MSN degree will have greater preference over BSNs who are not in school.)
  • Previous experience teaching online, hybrid, or web-enhanced courses.
  • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level within the last five (5) years.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for effectively preparing, teaching, grading, and assessing student learning in courses assigned.
  • Create and model a quality learning environment to support a diverse student population including students with disabilities or special learning needs.
  • Maintain student records and provide documentation for in-completes within established College timelines.
  • Utilize a variety of technology-based programs to access and input information related to student records and college/school/department processes.
  • Assist students with registration, advising, and graduation processes.
  • Structure classes and curriculum to correspond with program and course outcomes.
  • Prepare, distribute and utilize instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media and other devices as appropriate.
  • Convene classes as scheduled and respond to student inquiries.
  • Assist students outside the classroom through posted office hours.
  • Attend in-service sessions, college/school/department meetings, graduation and convocation as required.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
