About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN), founded in 1971 and located in the greater Las Vegas metropolitan area, is the most ethnically diverse college in Nevada and the first to receive the HSI designation. It is a fully accredited institution offering hundreds of degrees and certificates in 70 academic programs, serving over 50,000 students annually from all 50 states and over 60 countries. The college operates in over 50 locations, including 3 main campuses and multiple sites throughout southern Nevada. This Instructor, Nursing position is a tenure-track role for Fall 2026. The primary responsibilities include teaching nursing courses across various formats (online, in-class lectures, skills labs, clinicals/practicums), maintaining office hours, and ensuring compliance with licensure and health requirements. Faculty are expected to contribute to curriculum development, evaluate student mastery, and actively participate in program, department, school, and college-wide committees and activities. The role emphasizes a commitment to diversity and an inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

  • CNA License.
  • Un-encumbered NV RN License.
  • Ability to pass background checks, drug screens, and provide all vaccinations/titers as required by the nursing department and/or health care facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential.
  • Master's of Nursing degree from a regionally accredited college or university or enrolled in Master’s of Nursing degree in a Nursing program from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Previous teaching experience as a nursing faculty member.
  • Ability to teach multiple nursing topics/subjects.
  • Experience working with diverse-cultural student populations.
  • Grant writing.
  • Published within professional nursing journals.

Responsibilities

  • Teach at least 15 instructional units per semester of nursing courses, including online and in-class lectures, skills labs, and clinicals/practicums.
  • Keep regular office hours and maintain licensure, certifications, and health documents.
  • Participate in the development of curriculum, syllabi, and course materials; evaluate mastery of skills and competencies required by the learning outcomes.
  • Serve on program, department, school, and college-wide committees, and participate in meetings and activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
