The Endovascular Fellow Instructor is a fully trained neurologist or neurosurgeon who is Board eligible and has a full medical license to practice in Florida and who has elected to spend one full year learning from senior faculty and teaching residents advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques and procedures related to the endovascular management of cerebrovascular disease. At the end of this position year, the Instructor will be familiar with the technical aspects of neuro-endovascular procedures. The Instructor will have excellent knowledge as well as technical expertise in the following: diagnostic cerebral and spinal angiography, cerebral and spinal embolizations for hemorrhagic vascular disease or tumors or trauma, and mechanical theombectomy for acute stroke. The instructor will not negatively affect the residents' experience in the operating room. The instructor will, teach, and perform surgery in conjunction with the neurosurgery resident, chief resident, and attending. The chief residents will select room assignments for the instructor and junior residents. The purpose and stated goal of this job is to develop diagnostic and therapeutic skills of the candidate such that he/she is able to compete for top academic positions and perform as a in Neuro- Endovascular neurologist or neurosurgeon.
