About The Position

Through leadership by example, provide instruction, administer authentic assessments, and foster an active learning environment that is focused on student foundational competence, success, retention, and completion. This position supports the Department of Manufacturing Technologies.

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with computer software applications such as word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation programs.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with video-conferencing and technologies associated with adult-centric teaching and learning, as well as within specific programmatic disciplines, which may include web technologies, operating systems, online program tracking platforms, social media platforms, mobile technology tools, and/or AV/multimedia applications and equipment.
  • Welding Knowledge and experience with: each of the four primary welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SMAW) oxy fuel cutting plasma cutting carbon arc cutting set up and fixturing weld procedure specifications (WPS) demonstrating safe work practices reading blueprints, welding symbols and producing welding blueprints performing final part inspections identifying quality welding
  • Fabrication Knowledge and experience with: sheet metal and structural steel fabrication bending, cutting, forming, punching, rolling, and shearing metal welding and metal finishing setting up and operating a press brake demonstrating safe work practices reading blueprints, welding symbols and producing welding blueprints performing final part inspections identifying quality welding
  • 10 years (20,000 hours) of documented work experience within the welding or metal fabrication trades.
  • Must be active in the trade at time of hire.
  • Attain and maintain a WTCS teaching certificate.
  • Post-secondary education related to the field of Welding or Metal Fabrication.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain that authorization through employment.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required upon hire.
  • WCTC does not provide employment-based visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain course curriculum.
  • Align curriculum to departmental, state, and/or other applicable standards and outcomes.
  • Plan, deliver and facilitate student learning, including providing ongoing quality feedback to students.
